Jango User guide - Components/Image Collections

Image Collections allows you to add and organise all your groups of images to display to visitors on your site.

Using Image Collections

Image galleries, catalogues and travel brochures - you name it! If it requires an arrangement of images with text which is available to the public or private groups then the Image Collections component is for you.

Image Collections has three modes:

This array gives you a vast number of possibilities for displaying different forms of media. Image Collections can be displayed on every page object in Jango, you can have various combinations and you can have as many per page, as you wish.

Image Collection Subcategories

On the default Image Collection page there are two additional sections that you may wish to look at. These are Images and Styles.

Creating a new collection

A collection is basically a category that can be used to hold a number of images. You can create as many different categories as you like by simply doing the following:

Editing a collection

This process is very similar to the above except instead of clicking on new, click on the name of the collection you wish to edit.

Adding images to a collection

When editing an image collection it is also possible to link through to the area for adding a new image. This essentially does the same thing as adding a new image from within the Image Collections -Images subsection.

After adding images to a collection, when you edit that collection, the edit form page also shows the images included in this collection at the bottom of the page. You can use the edit collection page therefore to do a quick editing/deleting of images within this collection.
